Overview
A 3-day intensive workshop in Naples on Standard British English pronunciation: vowel sounds, the IPA and drama-based practice, for intermediate and advanced speakers who want to sound clearer and listen with confidence.
What to expect
What you'll learn
- The British vowel sounds. How to hear them, and how to produce them yourself, like notes on a stave.
- Why native speakers are so hard to follow. The real differences between Italian and English phonetics, and the mistakes we all make without noticing.
- The IPA, put to work. Read a sound off the page and say it.
- How to correct yourself. Shadowing, imitation and drama techniques you can keep using long after the workshop.
- Real dialogues. You analyse the phonetics, then perform them with a proper British pronunciation.

How the three days work
Before you arrive. Two recorded lessons in phonetics, to watch whenever suits you.
On site. We split into two groups by level, intermediate and advanced. Mornings are interactive theory and practice on the vowel sounds in alternating groups with Arianna and Aurora. Afternoons are a plenary drama workshop with Aurora.
About 20 hours in total: 18 in person, plus 2.5 recorded. Places are limited.
